Welcome to the website of the Dorset County Golf Partnership.
The Partnership is one of twenty plus County Golf Partnerships around the country and has been set up to introduce more people to the sport and help grow the game within the county. The Partnership between Dorset County Golf Union, Dorset Ladies County Golf Association and Dorset County Professional Golfers Association was set up in November and has already received funding. Our aim is to help clubs to grow the game within the County so that more people can enjoy the health, fitness, and social benefits of playing golf on Dorset's scenic courses. We are promoting the game of golf, and one of our aims is to introduce more people to the game, encourage regular participation and improve the standard of play at all levels. We hope to work closely with all Dorset golf clubs and other Golf facilities. We have already established links with Bournemouth University and hope to continue within the county to build working relationships with colleges and schools. We will work closely with our local and national sports partnerships, to deliver golf development programmes and initiatives.
The Dorset Golf Partnership is currently funded by grants from the England Golf Partnership (English Golf Union, English Ladies’ Golf Association, and the Professional Golfers’ Association) and Sport England. We also hope to be supported by the Golf Foundation and by Active Dorset.
