Dorset First - Junior Organisors Workshop

The first ever (newly created) Junior Organisers’ Workshop was held in Dorset at Ferndown Golf Club on November 7th 2008. Jamie Woodford, Regional Development Officer ran the workshop on request of the Dorset County Golf Partnership. There were some 22 delegates from around the county who took part.  The partnership would be happy to run further workshops if there is sufficient interest from clubs.  These workshops are designed to be of benefit to your club junior organiser, interested? then please speak with the secretary.

Dorset and Wiltshire working together

Last year a PGA Level One Course was coordinated with the two Counties. There were not enough participants from the Counties as individuals to conduct the course, so the two Counties came together and therefore allowed a sufficient amount of participants to gain the qualification. This is a great example of Cross Partnership Team Work. Dorset and Wiltshire are hoping to work together and have another Level One Course coordinated for the end of May.

Dorset Disability Projects

Two disability projects have been coordinated inside Dorset. The projects offer an opportunity for participation in local schools for pupils that have severe physical / learning disabilities and also aspergers syndrome. The projects are supported by local club professionals / level 1 volunteers and the Dorset Golf Partnership.
