New Initiative to support innovative projects
The partnership is promoting and supporting Golf Clubs and individuals to create and be a part of innovative projects throughout Dorset. The new initiative is to work alongside anybody who has a project idea and requires support in the form of funding. The partnership requests a project proposal to be emailed to the Ian Hulse (County Secretary)

Junior GolfMark
The EGU/EWGA launched the Junior GolfMark Award in 2003 as an accreditation scheme for junior friendly facilities, assessing clubs on the following three areas:
• A national scheme that identifies and recognises junior and beginner friendly golf facilities
• Any golf club affiliated to EGU/EWGA may apply to gain the GolfMark Award
The three key areas within the golf club which are assessed are:
• Coaching & Playing
• Club Environment (including sports equity & ethics)
• Child Protection & Duty of Care
Once a golf club is awarded GolfMark, they will also be recognised by Sport England as a Clubmark facility
The partnership as part of its development plan is to assist clubs to get accredited and wants to hear from your club if you wish to take on the challenge to work to gain this prestigious award in recognition of their commitment to junior golf - this award is valid for three years. GolfMark/Clubmark
In 2006, the EGU/EWGA re-launched the Junior GolfMark scheme as the GolfMark/Clubmark Award, whereby once a club achieves GolfMark they are also recognised by Sport England as a Clubmark facility. Sport England’s Clubmark is a national cross-sport quality accreditation for clubs with junior sections. Click here for further information on Clubmark.
