Dorset County Golf Partnership - Club Forum March 2008

The first club forum was held since the formation of the County Partnership at DG&CC on Tuesday 18 March 2008 and two sessions were held to allow clubs the opportunity to attend, the forums were attended by representatives from 14 of our 32 clubs.  The agenda for the forum was:

So let’s deal with the Money first:

 

        To date = £12,500 we have been awarded a total of £22k over 3 years and we have received the First £10k of this along with the £2.5k received for the setting up costs.

        Guaranteed £6,000 year 2 / 3

        £16,000 over 3 years – Club & Coach Fund this is a new initiative that Jamie and the Partnership wish to explore with the clubs but will allow for coaching the juniors who are not at or receiving County Coaching.

        £10,000 for 2 years – Awards For all again the partnership will be looking at this in conjunction with our RDO.

Real-life case studies and projects are vital to the success of our programme. We are always looking for projects for our students to undertake.

 

 

         Year 1: ‘Golf Practicum’

         Simple research projects, membership surveys, resource audits, accounting exercises

         Year 2: ‘Event Management’

         Local or regional competitions, charitable events and activities

         Year 4: ‘Dissertation’ and/or ‘Applied Leisure Research’

         Advanced research projects, involving large scale data collection, questionnaires, interviews, etc.
